Soroptimist International is a worldwide NGO organization composed of women workers and professionals working with projects that advance and respect for human rights and especially the "status" of women, through good will, understanding and international friendship. SI was founded in 1921 in Oakland, California, USA and today has more than 90,000 members distributed in more than 3,000 organizations in 125 countries.

Any woman can participate regardless of race, religion or nationality. As a partner you can attend meetings at any Soroptimist Club World.

Soroptimist International is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO), has a consultative status with the United Nations and collaborates among others with UNESCO, ILO, WHO, UNIDO and FAO.

Objective With their projects Soroptimist International aims to make a positive difference for a person, group of persons or to society at every level. It is a global voice for women - with support, knowledge and action. Soroptimist International is neutral in political, religious issues and disputes between nations.
